When I first start reading about the Kindle, Amazon's new "wireless reading device", I wasn't sure of my opinion of the product. Now that I have started back on my normal pace of constantly reading and constantly traveling after a bit of a hiatus, buying one immediately makes more sense then I thought possible.
-I travel between a few locations (not just back and forth between two).
-I am normally in the middle of more then one book at a time.
-I normally like to have 3 or 4 books with me for the future.
Add all of this together and you can see that I am normally trying to travel with 5 or so books, trying to figure out where I will be in a few days so I can ship my new books there, and trying to figure out how to get the books I finished back somewhere for storage in case I want to reread them or refer to a certain passage. A pain in the ass I have lamented for a few years now.
I'm excited about eliminating this problem. Hence, my purchase of the Kindle. 1 device handles most of my books past, present and future. And my computer can just archive anything the Kindle doesn't have enough storage capacity for. Seems likely I will be lugging 5 or so pounds less when I travel in the future.
I haven't even seen or used one yet so I can't report first hand on anything other then my present troubles and how it appears this device will solve them. I'll let you know more when I do.
